Penmanship sleuth

VERNON — Meet handwriting analyst Anita Biggs, who has spent the better part of a career analyzing people’s handwriting, and in some cases, going to court to prove or disprove authenticity.

Biggs, 77, has called Sussex County and Vernon home for six years, after moving from Bergen County. She says that handwriting is a key to the individual.

“We view your writing as a picture of your brain on paper.”

Biggs studied handwriting analysis and document examination for three years at Felician College in Lodi some 40 years ago, then started her own business — Biggs-Scalia Associates. She later retired when her husband grew seriously ill. However, she is still available for personal analysis and she lectures at social events and group parties.

Certainly, Biggs has done a lot of work in her craft along the way. …
